    Using Simulation Weather Data

      Product(s): Hevacomp
      Version(s): V8i (Version 26)
      Environment: N/A
      Area: Simulator
      Subarea: Weather Data

    Overview

Each Hevacomp simulation requires a specific type of weather data, to simulate particular conditions.

For example, annual type simulations will require annual weather data. If this is not present, then the following message will be displayed:

Likewise, the following message will be displayed for Summer Design Year, if the summer design year weather data is not present.

    Method

There are two weather data sources used by Simulator - Meteonorm and CIBSE.

Energy Year data can be created with Meteonorm or CIBSE data.
Summer Design Year can only be created with CIBSE data.

Meteonorm data is the default weather data source supplied with and used in Hevacomp. If CIBSE weather data is required, please see this article detailing how to install it into Hevacomp.

To set up Meteonorm Energy Year data

Load the Design Database project. From Building Data, select your buildings location as usual.

This will determine what locations are available for selection as your Energy Year. To do so, open the Weather Data menu and select "New simulation days".

Select the "Add new Energy year" button.

    To set up CIBSE data

Once your CIBSE weather data is installed, go to the Building Data menu and select CIBSE as the weather source.

Open the Weather Data menu and select "New simulation days".

Select the required location for the Energy year, and push the "Add..." button. If you are asked if you with to overwrite existing data, select yes. Set up your summer design year in the same manner.

Future Data and Alternative Data Types

The method for activating future weather data is the same as above, though the lists will appear a little different.

The Browse button allows for import of other weather files not listed. Hevacomp supports .TRY, .DSY, CSV and .EPW formats:
