Bentley Hevacomp has stopped working after the Windows 1803 update. When attempting to launch Connect, Design Database, Netsys or System Builder, a "Run Time Error 91 - Object Variable or With Variable not set" is immediately encountered.
The Windows update has turned off Network Discovery, and is stopping the software locating UNC paths. You may also find that any peripheral devices mapped to UNC paths may stop functioning, too. To resolve this issue, Network Discovery must be re-activated. The methods discussed below show one way of achieving this. You will need to action both parts of this solution.
This is an issue with the operating system, and not Bentley Hevacomp software. The Run Time Error is a by-product of Network Discovery being turned off by the Windows 1803 update. The following document is intended as an aid to your own IT personnel, who may find it useful while resolving this issue. We strongly recommend you request your IT make these changes. If you do not have IT assistance available, you MUST be logged on as an administrator before attempting these changes.
