If you have a Server/Client installation of the software, you may get an error while trying to display the context sensitive manuals.
Microsoft recently introduced a security fix that has the knock-on effect of stopping HTML or compiled HTML files being displayed across a local area network.
As Bentley Hevacomp uses compiled HTML manuals, in some instances (usually Server/Client installations) rather than seeing manual pages you will see an error message.
The following are potential solutions for this issue. You will need administrator privileges on the client machine for these options.
Option 1
Run Windows Explorer from the client machine and navigate to the installation folder, and then to the manuals folder on the server machine (this should usually be C:\Program Files\Heva25\Hevadata\Man\). Right-click on the MANUALS.CHM file in this folder, and select properties from the context menu. On the properties page you should find an Unblock button just below the Advanced button on the General Page. Click the Unblock button, and then the Apply button. The Unblock button should disappear, and the client machine should have access to on-line help within the program.
Option 2 (advanced method)
Open Regedit on the client machine. Add the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\ItssRestrictions
And a DWORD value for MaxAllowedZone which should be set to 2.
This method should be used if you cannot see the Unblock button in the method above, and should only be considered by experienced IT professionals.
Option 3 (last resort)
Finally, if none of the above work, then you should copy the MANUALS.CHM from the installation folder of the software ({Install locateion}\Heva25\Hevadata\Man\ ) on to the client machine desktop (ensure you copy the file, and not generate a shortcut). While this will not give you context sensitive functionality, you will be able to see the whole help file at any time by double clicking on the icon.
