The number of occupants and activity with which they are employed will have an effect on any heat gains in the space being considered.
The Design Database program provides a facility for providing the number of occupants and the activity they are involved in.
The available activity types are:
Seated at rest
Office work
Walking
Light work
Medium work
Heavy work
These activity types can be mapped to the CIBSE guide:

The interpolation function uses the following methods:

Data is based upon CIBSE Guide A, Section 6, for heat emissions from an adult male body.
Data is supplied for a number of fixed points (figures shown in black)
If the room temperature exceeds 26°C then the figures for 26°C are used.
If the room temperature falls between the fixed points, specified room temperatures then the values are interpolated (example interpolation shown in yellow)
