Usually, a project will only have one seed file defined and all users use the same seed file to create new design files within the project. However, there may be circumstances that require multiple seed files to be used by different users within the same project. It is possible to allow different users in WorkFlow Manager to use different seed files when a WorkRequest is created. This can be accomplished by using an environment variable in the MASTERPATH setting in the COMMODITYGROUP table in CHDATA.
NOTE: This method will require all users that create WorkRequests to have a seedfile name defined in the environment variables on their machine. This method would only be implemented if there is a need for different users to use different seed files.
Using SQL Developer, open the COMMODITYGROUP table in the CHDATA user and observe the value in the MASTERPATH column—this should be the path to the actual seedfile of the Project. Replace the seedfile name and extension with %ProjSeed% as shown below:
After making the change, click anywhere outside the cell in that column and then click the Commit button to Commit the change in SQL Developer.
Open the Advanced System Properties dialog and click on the Environment Variables button:
When the Environment Variables dialog opens, click the New tab under User Variables and populate the Variable name with ProjSeed and the Variable value with the name and extension of the desired seed file as shown below:
