We have NWDs with many files in it, from different sources, format. Some are from Autoplant. All other files made with basic cad, Revit, Smartplant, Tekkla etc work fine. First issue we have is with Autoplant files, even if they are displayed well in Navisworks, they are slow to inquiry... When you click on one object to see the properties, may take minutes before showing one of them. Also, All the files/layers from NWCs, NWDs can be exported to 3d PDF and Synchro, with all the source application user attributes, like smartplant attributes. Except the files made with Autoplant , those will NOT export? hour glass goes on for ever..
Note: Export Autoplant from Navisworks in some format or options works well (tested many format) as long as we are not exporting the user attributes. All export with user attributes from Autoplant files failed.
Is there any solutions, tips from Autoplant users who export NWC, NWD files, resolved the slow property inquiries an/or use Autoplant with Synchro too?
I put the two issues, slow property inquiry and export failing of properties because it looks like they could be related...
PS I don't have Autoplant, just have Navisworks files...
Synchro allows us to convert Navisworks files back to stand .ifc and we want the user attributes from Autoplant files to bring as standard exchange format for integration in multiple software we have.
Thank you posting your query on Bentley Communities Forum.
We don't do testing on Navisworks so do not have ready environment for testing on our side.
Please share your contact details so that we can set up our call to discuss further on this issue.

I am a new user and my profile was not completed when I did my post. I just updated my contact information in my profile. Is this all you need? (newbie...)
Dear Gilbert,
we have moved it to SYNCHRO forum so that you can get your response related to this item.

ok
FYI, since the last post, I did more tests...With "some" success...
I tried the export on one of my personal computer, out of the office domain and other network security, etc. I could extract one by one the attached Autoplant files from the NWD. Take about 40-60 hours to export each. Still very-very slow...
Meanwhile, I found other issues importing smartplant file (.vue) in Naviswork. Just crashed and It looked like an Database error to me. I re-installed the Microsoft MDB engine and fixed that issue of reading .vue in navisworks on my domain computers.
So after this Database engine fix, I tried it again an export Navisworks to Synchro, on my domain computer again and it worked this time!
Looks like fixing that second issue with smartplant file could have also fix the export on Autoplant files?
(At least I had the files exported...)
I could do the export, BUT, and is a big "but" still days to export them! And still have the issues that it is extremely slow to read the properties when I click an object in Naviswork
Note:
I can only assume the database engine fix/install, resolved the issue of not being to exporting the file at all, could have been something else in my system that I am not aware of... Not 100% sure on that one... If someone had the same issues or crashing and want to reinstall the database engine, I am posting the link to it bellow.
If you install this engine fix and your export worked after... Let us know by posting your result here.

PS: to accelerate the export, I split each file exported , EX: from one Autoplant file, selected for the export 1/3 of the layers at one time, repeat for the other layers to export the content in 3 sessions at the same time. Less hours total each to do individual processing and merge them back in synchro after... Caveats not saving all 3 exports Synchro extraction and link content info after in NWF (same file being edited multiple time at once). But in my case, a one time export, I didn't need that to be saved in the NWF so I was ok with it...
Gilbert, It would seem that you have already resolved your issue, besides the fact that exporting in smaller subsets of the Navisworks model still takes a long time. I don't think we have any better solution than what you have already discovered.
Regarding the future synchronizability of the models, you can review this video explaining the workflow with Navisworks (saving model as NWF) and SYNCHRO Plugin - https://youtu.be/jTMgAfzmygM?t=279
