Freezing and Creating multiple basellines in Synchro

Hi Team,

The baseline start & finish ( say Baseline -1) dates that are present in the original Primavera P6 file are automatically copied to Planned Start & Planned Finish columns in Synchro after that P6 file imported in Synchro 4D. After this when the next the baseline is updated in the Primavera P6 Schedule ( say Baseline -2 this time)  and this updated schedule is again into the same synchro file as used before in the previous case to reflect  the changes, the Baseline-2 dates are again copied into the same Planned Start & Planned Finish columns in Synchro , hence columns change without preserving the previous baseline -1 dates. The output required here is to simultaneously keep multiple baselines in Synchro such as Baseline-1, Baseline-2 in separate columns whose dates don't change when a new schedule with a revised baseline ( say Baseline -3 ) is imported. How can I keep updating multiple baselines in Synchro without causing any changes in the previous baseline dates & How can I compare these multiple baselines scenarios in Synchro?

Thanks

  • Hi Khushal,

Before any update to the schedule in SYNCHRO 4D, you will have to save the current one as a Baseline, manually. You can save multiple baselines and compare them in the Task list/Gantt/3D window. Please review Module 5 in SYNCHRO 4D Scheduling Quick Start 2020 course on SYNCHRO Academy, which talks about working with Baselines - (link no longer available, please check learn.bentley.com)

You can also follow along the recording from one of the SYNCHRO office hours sessions - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yaKUkzNaMM

    Hope this helps!
