Is it possible to change the appearance profile of elements in a task to another profile, once the date has passed , using synchro scripts? Instead of manual changing....... For example, if the task is not actual started but the planned date has been started, the appearance profile of the particular task elements should be changed (Before date- Profile-1, After date-profile-2)

This is not possible using Appearance Profiles. You may want to explore different Color Modes and visualize data in separate windows.
Not exactly what you looking for, but here's one way of visualizing Planned/Actual -
Alternatively, you can explore using Resource Statuses where you can assign a starting default status color for Planned and a different color for Started with the timestamp to match the schedule dates. The hiccup here is that you cannot use Scripts to automatically set the Status timestamp, and will have to rely on Excel interoperability to do it in bulk.
Thanks Arpit.... That was a great alternative but still, is it possible to show other color modes in Synchro Control and Field, other than resource status and appearance profile??
