We are using the mouse scroll wheel to control the zoom in and out of the 3D view, is it possible to enter dimensions or do it some other way?

You can set up the specific position of the camera from under 3D View Properties > Camera -
I have the same problem, although I'm trying to replicate a camera angle between two SP files
For me, on v6.3.1.2 this method does not work. When a single value is entered (X position for example), the typed value is ignored and is entered as 0.00.
This happens for all typed values.

I tested this on v6.3 and can replicate the issue, so likely a bug we fixed in a later version. I will suggest upgrading to the latest v6.5.
