The Slice tool allows you to split components into smaller objects so that a future time, quantities can be calculated for new objects.

You can slice a component either By edge or Horizontally.

Slice by offset
Slice by offset slices multiple elements by defined offset.

Slice by another element
Slice by another element slices multiple elements by defined slicing plane of another 3d element.

Freehand

Ability to draw custom rectangle, polygon or line with exact dimensions and slice accordingly

Properties after slice operation

After slice, new child element has calculated area, volume and few properties copied from parent element. Slice by edge, Slice horizontally tools additionally create property 'Length of slice'. To review all parent's properties for selected child element, select 'Parent' tab in Properties widget.

Slice by edge, Slice horizontally tools create property 'Length of slice'. When needed this property could be used to calculate quantity.
