Issue: After user presses Sync, in the "Unsynced items" page, user sees Status update sync in progress... with a spinner that seems to be taking a long time to finish syncing.
Solution: The short answer is that all of users status update changes are successfully submitted within seconds after user taps Sync even though the spinner seems to never finish spinning.
We understand that the current Sync experience includes a spinner that appears to be spinning all the time and never finishes. in addition, there is no indicator whether status updates are synced succesfully from Field, which makes it unclear to users when it is safe to close SYNCHRO Field. In reality, within a few seconds after user taps Sync in SYNCHRO Field, if there is no error message prompted, all status updates are submitted to cloud and await to be processed. It is safe for user to close SYNCHRO Field within seconds after user taps to Sync in Field, even if the spinner is still running.
The spinner doesn't really imply any defect but requires an improvement to the user experience. Our team is working on an improvement to improve the experience.
Issue: When 4D project data is large or complex, user may encounter "Error: Error downloading scheduled tasks" when opening the Status update and loading Tasks from More Options> Status update.
Workaround: Trimming your 4D model by removing all unecessary relationships and objects will help, those are not limited to: 3D, Resource, Resource Group, Task relationships and assignments.
Solution: Our team has implemented a fix that will be soon to available to all users. If you are interested to try on your project, reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org and you can join SYNCHRO Field EAP to become a proud Beta user.
Issue: After user taps Sync in Field, changes don't show up in SYNCHRO 4D Pro transaction history after a long wait.
Solution: Check if you have "Refresh Token has expired or is missing" in Administration> Manage iModels in your project in SYNCHRO Control. Click "..." then Re-enter user credentials. After this is done, within a few minutes you will see the Status update transactions start to come in Transaction History UI in SYNCHRO 4D Pro after they are processed by service.
There is no need to Sync changes again in Field. Again, once user taps Sync to submit status updates from Field and there is no error prompted within a few seconds, all changes have been successfully submitted regrardless of the sync spinner's state. Our team is considering an improvement to remove the need to the manual step that requires user to Re-enter user credentials. Until then please use this solution and double check the "Refresh Token has expired or is missing" message in SYNCHRO Control.
Issue: If user creates addtional Status categories in SYNCHRO 4D Pro and update Statuses on 3D Resources using the Status set and Statuses from these user-created Cateogry, user are not able to see the status colors reflected properly in SYNCHRO Field.
Workaround: Only use the Default category, and create Status set and Statuses in the Default category when updating statuses on 3D Resources in 4D Pro so that coloring is correct in SYNCHRO Field. If you already assigned statuses (from status set in the non-Default category) and experienced this issue, you can use Excel to "move" all history statuses from the non-Default category to the Default category. If additional help is needed, please reach out to email@example.com.
Solution: The root cause for this issue is that currently there is no uniqueness requirement on the Status history item ID in SYNCHRO 4D Pro data. This is not a SYNCHRO Field defect. Our team is working on an improvement to resolve this issue.
