Establishing a ProjectWise Connection in SYNCHRO Control

With SYNCHRO Control, you can securely exchange files across devices, enhancing collaboration. If your organization uses the ProjectWise document management system, integrating it with SYNCHRO Control streamlines access to project-related information.

Step 1: Accessing Document Settings

  1. From the homepage, navigate to the "Administration" section.
  2. Choose the "Document Settings" option to proceed.

Step 2: Initiating a New Connection

  1. Within the "Document Settings" page, locate the "New Connection" option.
  2. Click on "New Connection" to initiate the setup process.

Step 3: Creating the Connection

  1. In the popup window, assign a name to the connection for identification purposes.
  2. Input the ProjectWise Server URL. Click "Get Data Source" to reveal the available data sources associated with the provided URL.

Step 4: Authentication and Configuration

  1. Choose your preferred authentication method - Bentley IMS authentication or enter your username and password.
  2. From the dropdown list, select the desired "Work Area" associated with the ProjectWise Server.
  3. Provide a brief description to facilitate easy identification.
  4. Optionally, you can designate this connection as the primary connection. The primary connection activates ProjectWise Drive and automatic user synchronization. Note: A project can have only one primary connection.

Step 5: Synchronization and Confirmation

  1. If the primary connection is selected, the "Synchronize with ProjectWise Drive" option will be available.
  2. Review all the entered details for accuracy.
  3. Click "Connect" to finalize the establishment of the ProjectWise connection.

Step 6: Managing Connections

  1. Once the connection is successfully created, it will be visible in the list of connections within Document Settings.
  2. To modify or remove a connection, locate the connection in the list.
  3. Mark the checkbox next to the connection you wish to modify or remove.
  4. Select either the edit or delete icon to proceed.

Editing a Connection:

  1. Clicking the edit icon opens a popup window allowing you to modify the connection's details.
  2. Make the necessary changes and click "Save" to confirm the modifications.

Deleting a Connection:

  1. Clicking the delete icon prompts a popup window for confirmation.
  2. Confirm the deletion to remove the connection from the Document Settings.
