FBX animation doesn't look right in 3DS Max Design

I exported an animation from Synchro to FBX, but when I open it in 3DS Max Design, the animation doesn’t look right. The objects are highlighted the right colors according to Use Profiles, but all objects are visible from the start of the project – they never appear or disappear.

When using 3DS Max Design with FBX animation files from Synchro, the following set-up must be performed only once to get the correct effect. Note that this is only necessary for 3DS Max Design, not 3DS Max.

    1. In 3DS Max Design, select Customize>Custom UI and Defaults Switcher

    2. Set Initial settings for tool options to Max. The setting for UI schemes does not matter

    3. Select Set and proceed as normal.
