Upgrading an existing SWP project

If you have a SYNCHRO Workgroup Project that you would like to upgrade from a previous version, you will need to save the project as a private project (.sp file). SYNCHRO 4D Pro (6.3) does not connect to SWP at all, so you must save the .sp files from whichever version of Pro you are currently using with SWP.

  1. Before installing SYNCHRO 4D Pro 2020 (6.3), open each of your SWP projects in SYCHRO Pro (6.2 or earlier) and save as an .sp file
  2. After you have saved the .sp file(s), you may install SYNCHRO 4D Pro 2020 (6.3) and proceed with the steps in Upgrading an existing private project (.sp file)
  3. After creating the project in Control, you must add new users in Control for all of the users in the SWP project as they are not carried over from the upgraded .sp file or from SYNCHRO Portal.
  4. If your SWP is hosted by SYNCHRO Portal, please contact synchrosupport@bentley.com to shut down your SWP instance in Portal when it is no longer needed.
  5. If your SWP is hosted on premise, take a backup and uninstall SWP when it is no longer needed
