P6


Importing from Primavera can be achieved via P6 XML file or directly from the P6 database using the P6 API. Direct database access can be achieved for either PPM or EPPM (Standalone/Local or Server) versions of Primavera P6.

Note: For any assistance with the P6 API, please reach out to Oracle Support.

  1. Go to File tab, choose Import > Primavera P6.
  2. In the Primavera P6 import window, choose File for Data Source. Then click Browse to select the file Training Project Schedule (P6).xml. Click Open to load the file.
      

  1. Once the file is opened, you will be able to see the file listed under List of Projects. Select the project that you would like to import, and click the Next button to proceed.

    Note: Sometimes the P6 XML file can contain multiple projects, so make sure to select the project you would like to import. You can also review the Project Name, Project ID, and Data Date before you click the Next button.
  1. Use the Default options to import all data from the schedule, then click the Next button.

    Hint: If you are familiar with what needs to be imported, you can adjust and choose to Skip or Import for individual categories such as Tasks, Links, Task constraints, Costs, Calendars, Resources, Resource assignments, etc.

  1. In the end you will be presented with the window of Output results. Click the Finish button.
      

  1. Now you can review the imported schedule in Gantt Click the Gantt tab from the Support tab if needed.
