Hi,
Is it possible to attach raster e.g. ECW orthophotos from ContextShare to a dgn in OpenRoads Designer or MicroStation?
We have a large number of high resolution orthophotos on PW and we see often all the files being copied out (even having them in the dms local folders). I understand it would be much more efficient to be able to stream the raster files from ContextShare, similar to scalable meshes and point clouds.
Regards,
Mariusz
This would make more sense to have a common aerial stream for multiple sources, instead of duplicating raster sources for desktop and cloud services.
Side note, have you tried enabling ProjectWise raster streaming?:

This is interesting, thanks for sharing. We will test this functionality. Perhaps, addition of 3SM scalable meshes streaming to PW streaming service would be nice which would be alternative to streaming in PW from ContextShare.

Common source for PW and iTwin makes sense but how would that be configured? PW raster streaming plus iTwin using the same source? We would need raster streaming rather than static files display in iTwin.Another nice option would be dynamic draping of these raster files onto Bing terrain in iTwin - or even onto dgn terrain (avoiding creation of 3SMs).

Agree, however 3SM is not as refined and integrated into the DGN environment as it should be in my opinion. Automated cloud-based 3SM generation for end users (not ContextCapture) and streaming would take it to the next level.

I was more thinking of ContextShare streaming into Microstation and iTwin. We can already reference models from iTwin so almost there. An option for on the fly draping seems like standard functionality you would expect from a brand new cloud service platform.

Yeah, this is what my intention was in the first place.
Also, we need guidance on uploading ecw files to ContextShare.
Create a 3SM from ECW and upload. Internally 3SM is converted to JPEG unfortunately.
