iTwin Terrain workflow / guidance

Hi

I would like some guidance on how best to process terrain models in OpenRoads (2022 R2) to allow them to be synced in iTwin.

I have been doing some testing and I can't quite achieve what I want.  I only want to see the terrain boundary in iTwin in plan view, and when I create a cross section I want the terrain surface to be displayed, but without the need for the terrain to be displayed (in plan).  I am saving the terrain models as dgn and syncing with the civil connector and using iTwin (connect).

I've seen it done on another project but I can't seem to replicate this.

Could anyone provide any guidance on display symbology or process, please?

Thanks

  • All elements in the dgn should be synced and display in the iModel the terrain should also display the same in the iModel as if it no part of it was toggled off. The other project may of had an issue when the Terrain was synced to the iModel causing only the border to display. But terrain may have a different set of rules that allow dgn toggles to be passed to the iModel.

Here in the dgn the properties allow parts of the terrain to be toggled off. Leaving just boarder turned on and the others off may be passed allow the settings to be passed to the iModel.

The terrain options can be toggled off in the iModel leaving just the border on.
