Duplicate models

Tried to synchronize OpenRoad DGN to iModel(iTwin Hub?) at first it asked to install some 10GB of different iTwin Bridges even that I have Microstation, OpenRoads and OpenBuiildings already installed. After losing some hours to install it and 20GB of disk space the synchronization now fails with error that duplicate models detected in file.

There is no option to copy errors out nor there is an export the log button in iTwin Synchronizer so not sure how to share it.

Any idea how to fix duplicate models in file error?

  • Hi Oto,

Tried to synchronize OpenRoad DGN to iModel(iTwin Hub?)

The terminology is confusing a bit ;-) i-model is format, whereas iModelHub is cloud infrastructure, providing services.

at first it asked to install some 10GB of different iTwin Bridges

I agree, the size is huge. But:

    • Not all offered bridges really have to be installed: Often MicroStation + OpenRoads + OpenBuildings combination is offered, even when only specific one (e.g. OpenRoads) is enough.
    • It's good to check the application folder(s) like C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\iTwinSynchronizer\ and C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\imodelbridges\ for possible relics. My experience is that it's fine now, but in the past, often installation packaged were not removed when the installation was finished.
    • The real size is smaller, e.g. MicroStation bridge is "only" 1.64 GB, which is substantially less than MicroStation itself.
even that I have Microstation, OpenRoads and OpenBuiildings already installed.

The Synchronizer and bridges are based on different technology (Chromium based JavaScript with native dll integrated), and not based on standard product, so they are installed in parallel.

Do you mean duplicated model in DGN file?

There is no option to copy errors out nor there is an export the log button in iTwin Synchronizer so not sure how to share it.

In Synchronizer menu, there is Save logs option. It collects application logs (there are several different) and zips it to one file, that can be shared easily.
