I am creating my first iModel but I have a problem because i feel that the models are uploading VERY slowly. Is this normal? I want to start using iTwin instead of NavisWorks but if this is the normal speed of making changes in the iModel i dont know if its doable.
iModel sync
Size of files
Also note that you are running this on our "web service" which will sit in a queue for each connection. There is a local synchroniser which will use your machines processing and connection to process the files. There will be no queue, and the performance will be dependent upon your machine processing / ram / internet speed (there are some settings to modify the performance)
That is very interesting! I was under the impression that this service was fully in the cloud. How do I start witht the process of synchronizing with my own machine?

The data storing, processing and presentation are implemented in (Bentley) cloud, but how the conversion/publishing to iModel (BIS format) is done, can be realized - as Glen wrote - in 2 different ways.

I guess you should install iTwin Synchronizer, which is desktop application. When confgiured to access your iModel, it is able to analyze converted data and to install correct transformation engine (bridge) to ensure data is processed in the right way. Complete process is done locally and converted data is sent to iModel Hub.

sadly somehow the iTwin Synchronizer is not making any progress... I just added 1 file to try it. Its a dgn with a terrain model in it. Its been on for 24 hours....
"Checking connector" looks weird, because it's something that does not require too long time. When the right connector is not installed (yet), it's downloaded, installed and used automatically.
What connectors are installed on your machine? Depending on format and application used, for DWG it can be AutoCAD or Civil3D.
The synchronizer allows to pack and save all log files, so they can be easily shared with Bentley support.
Yes something strange there ... you can click on the gear icon and pre-install the Microstation connectorAs you can see here my connectors need updating ... dgn should use the MS connector, but may try to install all connectors that can handle dgn.A terrain model should be OK ... if you use the OpenRoads connector it may try and create a ContextShare Mesh if it is a very large mesh to make it more efficient for iTwin users.
