This course is designed to introduce new users to basic design concepts, tools and features of Bentley Substation V8i. Substation design involves many different engineering disciplines, such as Civil (site design), Mechanical (steel structures), Architectural (control house) and Electrical (P&C and Layout). This course will focus specifically on the physical layout of the substation, and reference in designs created within some of the other disciplines.

This course is designed for users new to Bentley Substation. The course builds a solid foundation in the concepts, tools and skills used in Bentley Substation. Students will walk through a typical workflow from creating a project and placing symbols to creating intelligent wire diagram pages and generating reports.

This course will introduce the administrative functions of Bentley Substation and how they can be used to effectively manage the software:

  • How to create title blocks and page formats
  • What files can be stored at a network location
  • How can Bentley Substation integrate with ProjectWise
