We want to import files from our automation group but they only have the capability to export to an xml file. But PLC Generator only allows xls or csv files. Is it possible to use an xml file or how do we utilize what our automation group has to be able to import the plc information?
Please advise.
Thanks!

Hi Chris. PLC Generator reads data from XLS, XLSX, or CSV files only. To get data from an XML file into a spreadsheet format, there would need to be some mapping applied so the right data goes into the right column. According to the following Microsoft article, Excel has this mapping capability.
https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Overview-of-XML-in-Excel-f11faa7e-63ae-4166-b3ac-c9e9752a7d80
So the XML data you are getting from your automation group would need to make a stopover in Excel before coming into PLC Generator.
There is a promis•e Project Automation course in the promis.e Administrator Learning Path that covers PLC Generator along with Project Builder and Project API Builder:

PLC Generator has its own documentation accessible from within PLC Generator (Help > PLC Generator Help), so I'd start there if you have not read it yet.
