Hi,
I have a specific question : i need to backup sql server project , need this source to make access project. After doing some updates in access , i need to backup this access project and restore as previous sql server project.
Sounds clear ?
Anyone a suggestion if this is possible ? The reason I need to do this : I need to do imports while using earlier created access scripts. Rewrite to be consistent with sql server scripts would be too timeconsuming.
Thanx for feedback,
Frank
Hello Frank. I'm sorry but that is not very clear to me. Do you want to backup just the SQL Project Database, which contains all the data for all active projects in that database, but no drawings? That would need to be done with Microsoft SQL tools like the Microsoft SQL Studio Manager. Typically you would do that in order to move the SQL database to a new server or for data backup purposes. https://communities.bentley.com/products/electrical___instrumentation/w/electrical_and_instrumentation__wiki/3591/backing-up-promis-e-data-automatically
Or did you mean that you want to use the built in Project Backup command to create a backup of a single Promis.e Project (data and drawings and configuration files)? That command is in the Project Manager. https://communities.bentley.com/products/electrical___instrumentation/w/electrical_and_instrumentation__wiki/10121/backup-project
Then you say you want to make an "access project" to do "updates in access". What do you mean? You want to use Microsoft Access to manually make data changes to the data in the database? What are you trying to accomplish? Making changes to the data outside of normal procedures requires in depth knowledge of what to change and what kinds of data can be changed. You could cause irreparable corruption if you do not know what you are doing.
If you can be clearer about what you are trying to accomplish we can perhaps try to assist you better.
