In newer versions of the software, Select Series 7 and later, most of the formerly separate functions of wire numbering and labeling, forced connections, etc, were consolidated into the Wiring Manager.  You should use the Wiring Manager to perform most Wire Editing functions in the newer versions.  The Edit Wires command that is left is more limited now, and no longer resembles the dialog shown in the Help file.  I will submit a request to our Documentation group to update the Help file.
