Hi all,
When I place down a bill of materials using Text on Report it doubles up the entries, as shown below:
However when we preview it from Run Reports shown below it is perfectly fine (no doubles).
In Report Template Designer our template is only a simple table, where the Items column is the balloon number. So is this doubling up of entries a known bug? or is it something that we are doing wrong? Happy to provide more details if required.
Thanks in advance!
John
Hi John. As a test, please try placing a Text On Drawing report using an out-of-the-box quantified bill of materials template. Does the doubling up occur?
Hi Matt
I have tried it with 'BOM_Qty - Drawing (metric)' as shown below and it still doubles up. I have also tried it with 'BOM_Qty - Drawing (inch)' and it does not double up. However we want to use the metric version our whole project is based off metric measurements. Also note that we have used 'BOM_Qty - Drawing (metric)' as a basis to create our own templates, which are the last three you can see in the picture.
I'm having trouble reproducing this behavior. I suspect there is a problem with the templates. Could you .zip up the BOM_Qty - Drawing (metric).rpt template found in the Reports subfolder of the Templates path seen on Setup > System Paths (Manage Individual Paths) and attach the .zip file to a reply to this thread?
BOM_Qty - Drawing (metric).zip
Here you go Matt, in there is also our template we have created.
Cheers,
John, I get the same doubling of the rows when I use your templates. I do not get the doubling when I use the out-of-the-box BOM_Qty - Drawing (metric).rpt template. So the problem sure seems to be with the templates you supplied, not the project data or something else.
I see the file size of your BOM_Qty - Drawing (metric).rpt template is much smaller than the size of the file delivered with Promis.e 08.11.13.96. This may account for the problem.
I recommend getting the as-delivered template from the data folder archive and using it to replace the BOM_Qty - Drawing (metric).rpt in your data folder. Then create a new custom template based on the restored template.
Do you have any idea of the workflow that led to this problem?

Hi Matt, I have tried your solution and it has solved our issue. Thanks! Im not sure why the duplication happened on the out-of-box template, but most likely someone tried editing it previously.
