Device ID tag

Jacky, if I understand correctly, you assigned the same device ID to symbols that are supposed to represent different devices. It sounds like these are relay devices with families assigned. When prompted with "All instances of this symbol in the selected family have already been used in this project..." you chose Append. Is that correct? If so, then I think you have two options.

Option 1:

1. Open Data Manager > Device ID.
2. Select each row that is for symbols that should belong to one device. You will have to refer to the Page and Line No. columns to identify which symbols belong together as one device.
3. Change the value in the Device Tag column (and/or Installation and/or Location) so that the device has a unique device ID.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for remaining symbols.
5. Close Data Manager, choose Yes at the "Do you want to save your changes?" prompt.

Option 2:

1. Right-click a symbol on the page and select Device ID from the pop up.
2. Specify a unique device ID (a device ID is the combination of Installation, Location, and Device Tag).
3. Click OK. Choose No at the "Do you want to update all related symbols that share this Device ID?" or else you will be renaming the device for all the symbols instead of splitting out the selected symbol.
4. Repeat for remaining symbols. All the symbols for a given device should be given the same device ID.

You may want to Backup your project before trying either option.
