Hello and Happy New Year Everyone!
Recently I have tried to use BRCM with the Import Cable List tool after designing the the Raceway from the control house to the substation bays, however for many of the length results after running the routing the value is 0m. I've checked the connectivity of the cable routes/ raceways and this doesn't seem to be the problem.
Looking for a solution for this, or a proper guide to achieve the result i require.
I can upload the required files if necessary.
Hi Kesigan,Happy New Year!! :)1) Import cable list by clicking here,2) Browse the file ( XLS file and Xml file ).3) XLS Import dialog pop-ups. Click OK.4) In Collaboration Manager Request lock for Respective cable list. Please check these steps and let me know you are still getting 0m value while running the routing.Regards,Avanti Khandalkar
Sorry for the late reply. This is actually the method I followed and the results are still zero. Could there be any other reason for this?
Another thing i wanted to clarify was that i have used 'cableroutes' rather than raceways to connect the substation equipment to the main raceway as seen below;
could this result in some problems as well?
Hope you doing good.
i have gone trough your query and just wanted to know, did you imported cable list and Equipment list both? as both are correlated to each other. cable list = To & from Information, Equipment map/list =Equipment ID's based on cable list.
and ,yeseven if you routed cable from using "cableroutes" it wont affect in result of routing cables.
I'm good, Hope everything's well on your end as well.
Actually the project was passed over to me from the customers side and I have imported the cable list and type a few times. The equipment list was already in the ID manager so I haven't had to import it in yet but i have the excel for that as well.
I followed the steps as Avanti had mentioned above, but the lengths still get routed as zero.
In continuation of your reply,i want know what result you do get after routing cables in cable manager> routing manage once you route cabls from automatic routing option.
before routing cables make sure that , after imporitng cables and Equipement list in callaboration manager set lock to each file id manager & and update database.
The result I get is that almost all the routed cables are highlighted in red, even the few that have managed to give some result.
I am trying to update the project to BRCM CONNECT EDITION now, I notice that in the Metric Template the .xml files to import cable list, cable type, equipment map etc. are not available.
Should I use back the old ones from the previous version or where can i find these files?
if cables are showing in red after routing it means, the raceway/cable tray is full. not possible to route furhter any cables thorughthat CT or raceway.
and in connect edition of BRCM you will find xml files at this location.
"C:\ProgramData\Bentley\BRCM CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\BRCM Metric Example\Worksets\BRCM_EU_EN\dgn\Detail Design\Documents"
make sure before you go to routing manager, select all cables and make it autoroute.
