I am trying to find if something similar come across anyone of us with OpenPlant [08.11.11.304],
Recently a crash happened to one of our user and after selecting abort and re-opening the file, file become blank [ I mean completely blank],
There were not a single piping component inside it, all attached reference were deleted as well, only remains was list of layer which we create for each pipeline,
User was working on that file from 8 weeks, we do rely on IT backups, but please share if anyone had similar experience with OpenPlant,

I recall us seeing one case like this in the past year but were not able to trace a root cause or even verify what truly had happened. We were able to get several backups and as you observed in one file everything just disappeared. Unfortunately we had no way to trace what that user had been doing as it wasn't noticed for more than a month.
More frequently we see our designers saying that components they had placed in there last session are missing or are graphically there but don't have any intelligence. These are usually traced back to a user getting a crash during a placement and then hitting ignore to keep going. Everything done in the session after that point is suspect.
So overall I can't say we can prove ever seeing the total loss of content. Smaller loss of content has happened but is avoidable by restarting if there is any crash.
