How to restore the sample projects if they have been deleted or were not restored automatically after installation.
The software typically restores sample projects when it is first run after it is first installed. When the software is upgraded or reinstalled, it may detect that the sample projects had been restored and not restore them again, even if the user has since deleted them.
Often when troubleshooting an issue or getting familiar with the software, having sample projects on hand can be useful. This document explains how to restore sample projects if they are not present.
For the "Project File (*.Prj)" field, click the [...] button and browse to the following folder:
\promis-e Data\Sample Projects
or, for Bentley Substation:
\Substation Data\Sample Projects
Continue browsing into the next folder according to the desired standard, ANSI-IEEE or IEC.
Select a project backup to restore and click the Open button. Project backups have a .PRJ file extension.
Sample projects available include:

The default project path will automatically be specified for the "Path" field, and the name of the project will automatically be specified for the Name field. These values can optionally be changed at this time.
Click OK to restore the project. When the process is complete, the restored project should be accessible in Project Manager.
Repeat this process for remaining sample projects if desired.
