Background

The Replace Symbol tool allows a symbol to be replaced with another symbol on the current page or entire project.  The symbol can also be replaced with itself as a means of refreshing it with the most recent version in the catalog.

To start the Replace Symbol tool

V8i through SELECTseries 8

From the Tasks or ribbon area, select Review/Revise >Revision Management >*Replace > Replace Symbol

Select Search > Replace Symbol

* is used to denote a menu selection that is not necessary in some versions or platforms.
