When starting the software, the following error may occurs. Often the software was running without issue prior to this problem, and other errors may occur when other tools are used to access catalogs or their contents.Internal ErrorError Message: Unrecognized database format "C:\ProgramData\Bentley\promis-e V8i(M)\promise Data\Catalogs\xxxx\catalog.mdb".TargetSite: Int32 NewConnection(System.String)DeclaringType: MDBProxy.ConnectionManagerAttributes: internalMemberType: Method
It is likely that the catalog.mdb file has been corrupted.
In more than one case, the problem was resolved by using the Compact & Repair Database function in Microsoft Access.
NOTE: If other users are also currently using the database file, you cannot perform a compact and repair operation.
NOTE: If other users are currently using the database file, you cannot perform a compact and repair operation. While you run the compact and repair operation, no one can use the database file.
You can select the Compact on Close database option if you want to automatically compact and repair a database when it closes.
NOTE: Setting this option affects only the database that is currently open. You must set this option separately for each database that you want to automatically compact and repair.
If Compact & Repair does not resolve the issue, try renaming the catalog.mdb file while no user is connected. This will cause the software to create a new catalog.mdb file. Note that it may take a long time as the software scans the directories to build the index that is the catalog.mdb file, and that any Category information in the catalog will be lost.
