Some problems are not resolved by uninstalling the software but are resolved by performing a "clean install". This article describes how to perform a clean install.
In this article "the software" means promis.e and Bentley Substation. The "Data folder" refers to the Promise Data folder and the Substation Data folder.
(Optional, use at own risk) Use third-party registry cleaner to remove registry keys related to the software. Opt to only remove registry keys related to the software, if possible.
Reinstall the software.
Verify the issue is resolved.
If the software is to use a local Data folder, move the backed up data (step 1) back into place. If the data is suspected, consider moving it into place one part at a time, or in sections, if applicable, to identify which file is the problem.
Verify the issue remains resolved.
