A default symbol catalog and a sample parts database are automatically installed when you install the software. The symbol catalog contains the general symbols for the standard that you are using (i.e. push buttons, relays, etc.). The parts database contains a small sample of parts (about 1700 parts) that works well for a trial of the software or going through our tutorial and sample projects. You will probably want to customize these to be more relevant to what your company actually uses.
While we could never have every part number there is, we do have many different manufacturers and parts available for our SELECT subscribers on the Bentley website. Any other custom parts or symbols that you might need that we do not already have can be created within the software.
Double-click the downloaded catalog file and extract it to the desired location. Catalogs are typically stored in the "Catalogs" subfolder of the promis-e Data folder or Substation Data folder, but there is no restriction preventing them from being located elsewhere.
Use the Setup dialog to add a new catalog path.
Extract the database file from the compressed file.
With Promis.e/Bentley Substation closed, add any records that you want to use from the downloaded database into the main parts database.Option 1: For Importing or Exporting from MS Access Database to MS SQL Database. Use the Import and Export Data tool which is present in MS SQL Management Studio. This tool can merge records from one Access database to SQL Database. The steps for installing MS SQL Management Studio can be found from the below Wiki Link. The Import & Export Data can be selected by following the below steps as highlighted in below image.Select Database >> Right Click on Database and Select Task >> Next select either Import Data or Export Data according to requirement.Option 2: For Importing or Exporting from MS Access Database to MS Access DatabasCopy and paste records from the downloaded database into the main parts database using Microsoft Access.
The "main" parts database, or the parts database currently in use, can be determined by clicking the Edit button next to Parts database path on Setup > System Paths. After merging the downloaded parts database into the main parts database, those part numbers will be available to assign to devices. If you prefer to add parts to an empty parts database, you can delete all the records from the parts_database table in the destination parts database using Microsoft Access before merging. Or, an empty parts database is available here.

Yi Lu, "do not include the "Additional_Part" or any "User" or "Memo" fields in the field mapping step."
When I try to merge the part database, it shows that merge error: overflow. How can I fix it?
Yes, that is why. Users without download rights will be redirected to the free iWare site.
My account is the sub account of my supervisor. I checked my access level and it shows a "no" for Download. Does this issue because of that?
I don't know why it is taking you there, it is not related to your promis.e edition. Can you select SUPPORT & SERVICES > Support > Downloads > Software Downloads and get to the Fulfillment Center?
www.bentley.com/.../free+software It takes me to here. Does it because the license I have is promis.e professional instead of promis.e enterprise?
Yi Lu, it seems to work fine for me, where does the link take you?
This link select.bentley.com/FulfillmentCenter didn't lead me to the right place.
