Cable cannot be automatically routed when virtual connection line is in a different DGN file than the raceway DGN file. In other words, cable auto-routing fails if virtual connection is in a reference file. Also, if there is a virtual connection between the mid-points of the two raceways wherein one raceway is in one file and another one referenced in from a different file then auto-routing fails. Case I- If virtual connections are in different DGN file and raceways are in a different DGN file then the routing line will not split and in this case the auto-routing of the cable fails. For instance , there are 2 different files wherein the Raceways are placed in one model and Virtual Connections are placed in another model, when both files are referenced together in Routing model then the auto-routing fails as the routing line fails to split indicating that there is no path for raceways to route the cable.
Case II- If one raceway is placed in one file and another raceway is referenced in from a different file and then if there is a virtual connection between the mid points of the two raceways then auto-routing of the cable fails. In both cases, after cable auto-routing fails , in the Routing Manager “No Raceway path found” information is displayed.
1.For Case I cable auto-routing can be done by keeping the raceway and virtual connections line in same DGN file. As long as the raceway and virtual connections are in the same DGN file, the routing line will split and auto-routing of the cable will work as designed. In this case the routing line will split according to the raceway and virtual connections and there will be a raceway path defined for the cable to route. 2.For Case II where there are two raceways in two files then there should be two virtual connection lines. One virtual connection line will be in the file where first raceway is placed and the second virtual line will be connecting the second raceway. When the two files are referenced together then the end points of the two virtual connections lines need to connect with each other.3.If the above steps are followed then auto-routing will succeed and the cable route will follow the designated auto-routing path. 4.After successful auto-routing the cable follows the designated auto-routed path.
