Conversion of Raster Image to Vector

I need to convert monochrome (black and white) rasters to vector. I am using "IMGVECTORIZE CONVERT ALL CONNECTED LINE" option to vectorize the raster. In raster, text is also available, so when i am using this option, the lines which are connected to text are also getting converted to lines. I tried to erase text which are connected to lines, but i am consuming too much time to do that. Please suggest me better techniques to convert only lines from TIFF files to vector DGNs.

Any suggestions would be great help. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

I think that there is no magic solution for your request. Whenever using the "Convert All Connected Lines" tool, you should expect to have some tweaking to do. Whether that tweaking is done before or after the raster to vector conversion is up to you. In my opinion, the options you have are: erase the text from the raster as you are currently doing, edit the converted vector lines to remove the text or use a tool like "Convert Lines" which would mean a longer conversion process
