Hi Are there any news on support for SQL Server 2008 Spatial? As far as I can see Bentley Map (or MicroStation) doesn't support SQL Spatial at all?
As far as I can see (and search) the latest reply to the question was november 11. 2007 by Keith Raymond, Bentley: "Bentley is extremely interested in SQL Server 2008 with spatial support and it is in our plans for sure." ...isn't there any news from Bentley.

In particular check Feature Data Objects (FDOs) it is a great idea, all we need is an FDO for XFM DGNs and I'd be as happy as larry as this would open my bentley map data up to many different formats.
If you would like some information on how I've intergrated some of my Bentley map data into SQL just drop me an e-mail.
I have begun work on a sql spatial load, update, delete tools for bentley map, well a contractor we use has begun work on it, if you would like some information on his planned release and what costs are associated with it, I could get you in contact with him, plus the interest might speed things up.
I am very keen on SQL spatial implementation within bentley map as I would like to remain using Bentley products
Bentley Map's support for MS SQL Server's Geometry and Geography data types is under evaluation and planned for a future release. This includes Read/Write & Import functionality. For now, the FME Extension to Bentley Map supports Import/Export of MS SQL 2008 Spatial.

...as previously mentioned in this thread, we are working on adding native SQL Server Spatial support to Bentley Map in a future release. This support will parallel our existing Oracle Spatial support. However for now, the Bentley Map FME Extension can be used for SQL Server Spatial read/write. ...no, the Bentley PowerMap product does not contain the Bentley Map FME Extension functionality.
