Any news about US SDSFIE Standard and Bentley?

I was asking an US organisation  for US SDSFIE 3.0 data model files for Bentley map and got an answer....."not possible".

Is there someone that can confirm there is  no more support for Bentley Map within the SDSFIE org.

  • Frank,
The particular user you are referring to may not be able to create a SDSFIE 3.0 Bentley Map file from their data, but Bentley Map still definitely supports SDSFIE 3.0 and newer releases. If the user needs help implementing Bentley Map with SDSFIE at their location, the user could contact their account manager and we could work with them on setting it up.

  • The User is not a Bentley User and does not want to implement Bentley Map at his location because the US site I' m referring uses ESRI. It's my org. you wants to support a US contractor with SDSFIE Data. And as we are Bentley Users we like and asked to do the job with Bentley Map. And I was confused about the "XML Schema's" that are available or creatable by a US user with the http://www.sdsfieonline.org/ functions. I thought I may get an Bentley Map XML Schema directly form this US User.
So thank you for clarifying this.

    Regards

    Frank

  • We do support File Geodatabases in Map SS4 in read/write mode. Since you may be getting a file Geodatabase from the client, then you can set up your own Schema to work with their data. The ESRI user will only care about the geometry and attribute data. the GSA that comes with Bentley Map will pick this up during the register process. You add your own symbology or you can use the symbology processor that Jeff Nolan and the gang has set up to implement symbology. See http://communities.bentley.com/products/geospatial/desktop/w/geospatial_desktop__wiki/18323.tool-geospatial-administrator-symbology-integrator

for the download of this tool.

What Map SS4 licenses in detail and do I need ESRI licenses, too?
