I see Map Mobile as an exciting and important tool we can use to assist in construction of large civil projects.
Unfortunately because we rely on large ortho-photos, i-models take an eternity to generate.
The background image data rarely changes.
Would it be possible to make Map Mobile load more than one i-model and overlay them together?
Then we can generate the background and static data such as cadastral and contour info once, and the actual design models that change regularly can be updated separately. The design data does not take long to generate in an i-model.
The user could then open the different i-models together and see the changing design over the base static model that always remains the same. Then we only have to transmit a smaller i-model to the client instead of the complete version that is many gigabytes.

We have considered this but referencing multiple i-models is not currently planned.
We have however developed capabilities that allow Bentley Map Mobile users to quickly and efficiently generate and distribute "delta change sets" for large (multi-gigabyte) data sets. These capabilities were designed to distribute incremental changes (via web services) to thousands of Bentley Map Mobile users who may have data sets consisting of a few thousand elements to those which have 10s of millions elements on their device.
