1) disconnect from network

2) start the installer

3) set the proxy info

4) reconnect to network

"install" button still disabled.

It would be *real* helpful to have a TEST button on the proxy dialog for the installer. I had to search for someone in my company who knew what the ip address and port should be set at. We use a proxy configuration file (*.pac) for IE and our "help desk" only knows how to tell users to point to that file - no knowledge about the settings contained in that file.

RE: Cannot Install Map version 8.11.9.614 - Install button not enabled

That doesn't sound like the standard method of installation Bruce. I'll ask our Development staff what might have caused that to happen.
You need to run the "standalone" or "for MicroStation" based on the license you have. Each one has its own product id, so its own license. License is not good for both.

Now, coming to your installation problem. Let me sugges the following (I've found this from the MicroStation forum following a Google search, link below) >
•Unplug or disable your network connection - this will enable you to set your proxy settings.
•After setting your proxy settings plug the network cable back in and set your deployment location. The installer will then download all the appropriate files.

Let us know if it helps

Regards
I opened the 8.11.9.3 pre-req installer .exe file in WinZip and extracted the two VBA .msi files, then installed them again. When I re-opened the Map 8.11.9.614 installer, NOW the install button was enabled.

I did the install and the product *appears* to be loaded.

Go Figure !!??!!

RE: Cannot Install Map version 8.11.9.614 - Install button not enabled

[quote user="Dan Weston"]Did you download and install the MicroStation 08.11.09.711 dependency first?

I thought there was an option (standalone) that would NOT require 8.11.9.711 to be pre-loaded. In any case, when I tried to install 8.11.9.711, the same situation occurs - no install button enabled. I set proxy info (even though I suspect it's being blocked by IT/firewall policies). As stated earlier, I *did* install the 8.11.9.3 pre-reqs (we've always done this with prior installs to bypass the attempted internet connection for installation). So - what now?

Thanks,
