Merge and Split Polygon in Map SS3

Question

Hello, 
 we changed from Bentley Map SS2 to SS3 and realized that the Merge and Split Polygon Feature isn't working anymore in 3d models. 
 We're working in 3d models but with planar shape geometries and we need to merge area Features. Is there any possibility to do this with on-board tools? 
 I know Bentley is working on their 3d capabilities but is there a solution anyone knows of? In SS2 it worked fine but now the only way I see is to get the primary keys of the elements I'd like to merge and to do it in Oracle Database, which is a really inconvenient way.

That's right; Merge and Split tools has been disabled in SELECTseries 3 for 3D design file in general. We do not read the data, and enable the tool if we observe planar content. They are just disabled when you open a 3D design file. 
 
As you stated, we currently work on planar
ot planar capabilities. Once done, it has been reported in our internal tracking system to see if the tools can be enable back.
