creat database in Bentley Map Enterprise v8i (SELECT series3)

in Bentley Map there are more ways how graphic and attribute data can be stored.

• Both graphic data and attributes are in DGN file. The most simple solution in my opinion.
• Graphic is in DGN file, attributes are in external database. This approach is usually treated as obsolete, but still makes sense in some situations.
• Everything in spatial database (Oracle and SQL Server are supported now).

There is no "the best general solution", so the decision what way to use should be based how your data will be captured, modified and shared.

What is common for all three options is you should use Geospatial Administrator to create XFM schema and to generate Bentley Map workspace in next step. The schema defines a project structure, features (houses, roads...) and their properties, etc.

I guess there are lessons available at Bentley LEARN server, but have no time to find and provide direct link. I also recommend to search this community and the whole BE Communities web for XFM and Geospatial Administrator discussions.

I'm living area software Bentley Map is very new so there is not much documentation about this software.
