Property watchers and DataBrowser

Hello.

I added a watcher list to a certain property (LandStatus) and now I'm unable to edit data in the DataBrowser for that single property. In the "Edit XFM Feature" dialog it works fine though but I would like to be able to edit data in the DataBrowser as well.

Is that normal behaviour in Bentley Map that when a watcher list is added the property becomes a "read-only" in DataBrowser?

I'm using Bentley Map (SELECTseries 4) verson 08.11.09.503 for MicroStation.

Hello Bjorn,

Yes. Unfortunately, the properties defied by watcher are read-only in Data Browser. The only way to edit these values is to use the Edit XFM Feature tool.

Are there any plans on making this function available in DataBrowser?

As I see it the Property watcher function is a brilliant solution when some standards have been developed around geographical information registering. These standards (at least the one I'm working with) have all kinds of codes where 1, 2, 3 etc. mean something that you would have to look up when registering data. It's great to be able to register the definition in one column with the standard code poping up in another. And being able to do this in DataBrowser would allow one to do this for multiple features.

I do not have the inside track. I am not aware of any plan to implement this in early future. Be sure I will report your request to internal instances. Sorry for the inconvenient and thank you to sharing your experience with our product.
