Tasks missing when upgrading to Bentley Map SS4 built 666

Hello Bentley

Something strange happens when upgrading Bentley Map SS4 to built 666 !

All the standard tasks in the task menu are missing. In the Entreprise version the task menu looks like this:

And if we set the config variable MS_GEOSURVEY_TECH to 1, the task menus for civil tools do not appears !

Furthermore it looks like 'Bentley MapStandalone SS4 built 666' do not reinstall civiltools, while 'Bentley MapEntreprise SS4built 666' do install  "CivilPlatform" under "Common Files/Bentley Shared", or at least do not remove them.

Is it just us? or can we expect a new set of installations packages for 'BMap SS4 upgrade 2' or a add on installation package ?

Best regards

  • Hello Erik,

These tools were part of a technology preview (as can also be seen in the PDF referred to in Dan's message) which means that we encourage users to try them out an provide us with feedback, but probably be careful integrating them in production workflows. Technology Previews are intended to grow into flow-blown functionality, but there are no guarantees.

The Bentley Map development team is currently evaluating its strategy with regards to integrating the worlds of Geospatial (Map) and Civil. As a direct consequence, we have removed the technology preview from the December maintenance release.

I will update you and the forum when we have clarity on where we will be heading with this.

    Best regards,

    Gijsbert
