Can't drop a area with pattern to shape and cells.

Hi all,

Have any one can help, I am finding the way to drop a area with pattern to shape and cells (I am using Bentley Map enterprise v8i 08.11.09.713)

I have tried some ways to do it but the result is nothing.

the Drop Element tool can not drop a polygon feature with pattern and the Drop Associative Pattern tool will make all them come to shapes and complete shape (not shapes/ complete shapes and cells)

Hi,

there are some restrictions what can be done with features. If you create the shape with pattern as polygon feature, I guess it was created as element type 106 (extended element) and maybe drop and pattern tools are not able to work with this element type.

Can you share some file as exampe including how the feature was created?

Sorry for repling late . I just finished a vacation along with my colleagues.

About my issue, I used some ways to create the pattern for my polygon features that have patterns, but with any way we still have difficult when we want to drop the polygon with patter to polygon and cells. the steps of one way in those ways:

I have a cell library and *.gdb file
Step 1. I import the gdb file to dgn file
Step2. I use symbology tool in Map Manager to set pattern for the feature "Phubemat"
Step3. Then I must to export the feature "Phubemat" to exported Phubemat model
Step4. I use the patterning tool to drop the exported Phubemat model.
I wish the result will be cells and polygons.

I have filed an enhancement (539479) for this issue.
