As in other GIS based Platforms, If we draw a polygon overlapping on other polygon while digitizing an area, we automatically get two different polygon with a common edge without any overlap area. Can we do the same in Bentley Map as it is also enable us to create a Geo-spatial Database?
Hi Harshit,
in my opinion Bentley Map does not offer such functionality as "native feature", but there are something you can try and it may help you:
It's possible to start Bentley Map in Cadastral Mapping Configuration, which provides environment to work with cadastral data model. Some specialized tools like COGO Editor and rules for digitizing, merging and spliting parcels are available.
Another way is to define own XFM model and to use topology features to define rules ... in fact Cadastral Mapping Configuration is based on these XFM features.

Jan makes a good point about using the Topology tools, including the editing commands to correct problem areas.
You should also try the Create Complex Shape and Create Region MicroStation commands to see if those will help in your situation. The Flood option will enclose areas that have common bounding elements. Options are available to locate or ignore interior shapes, text, and other interior elements.
Used in conjunction with the Bentley Map Promote tool, these can be quite effective data management tools for your GIS Solution.
thank you for your reply jan, Let me try all of your suggestion..
Thanks to you too Dan, I actually tried your tip too, looks like we can create regions from existing drawings or line works.
Thank U jan, it seems you were right, Cadastral Mapping configuration was the thing I was searching for, It enable us to draw consecutive parcels or polygons with sharing edges without overwriting them. And yeah, tools like COGO Editor and rules for digitizing, merging and spliting parcels are great for digitization.
Cheers..
