Hi,
I am attempting to open an LAS file into Bentley Map V8i. Any ideas why LAS to POD file would fail in Bentley Map? I am able to open some LAS files, but another group in a different geographic location won't even attempt to load. I automatically get the "Convert Failed" message when attempting to 'Attach' it.
The LAS files are ~25,000,000 points.
Thanks in advance.
Can you share your dataset to us? Use this link to upload your files and what is the version of Bentley Map are you using?

Thanks
It's was because my LAS files were in version 1.4, which I guess Bentley Map can't open. But version 1.2 seems okay. It would be nice if BM said something else besides just "Convert Failed". Would you happen to know if there are any guides on opening LAS files in Bentley Map, just so I'm better prepared in the future? Any LAS to POD tools out there?
Yes, you're right about the "Error message", it should give more information about the issue instead of giving a partial answer. I'll enter an enhancement for this so the DEV team will be aware of it. In the meantime, I'll do some investigation about guidelines for opening LAS file in Bentley Map.
Brian, Create a Service ticket for your issue, by doing that I'll be able to create and attach an enhancement to it.
I was wondering if anything has come from this. I'm still getting convert failed (no reason). I'm using aerial Lidar from a vendor and I'm not sure how to check the version or how to change the version. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hey Anthony, you can run LASinfo on your point cloud to find what version it is. https://rapidlasso.com/lastools/lasinfo/
Bentley Map seems to only convert from LAS version 1.2 so use LASinfo to check that.
I have no idea how to use this. Is there a download button?
Actually I'm using contextcapture editor for this no BM. Still getting convert failed though.
