Hello,
I have two area type features (PML and BLOCKS).
I would like to overlay the two area features to arrive at the list of BLOCKS polygons intersecting with the PML polygons.
But I would like to do this with a query filter on the PML blocks.
i.e First Select PML Block satisfying a specific attribute query and then overlay only those polygons with all the BLOCKS layer polygons.
Currently in Bentley Map Enterprise, I am only able to perform area on area overlay by only specifying Polygon Operation rules such as Intersect, Union, Subtract and Exclusive Or.
Attached is a sample dgn file with the two polygon features.
Any ideas highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi SRG,
There is no query filter option for Overlay function. However, you can use the following workaround:
1) Create a buffer with minimum buffer distance(0.001) for the PML blocks by applying data filter (this will allow you to satisfy your specific attribute query )
2) Now use the Buffer output layer to overlay with the BLOCKS using the intersect option.

I hope this helps!
Thank you.

Komal,
In continuation to this analysis, is it possible to perform a simple clipping of the data, i.e blocks falling within buffered layer need to be clipped for estimation of area of each block within the buffered area, instead of intersection.
The clipping is for analysis purposes only.
