Bentley Map CONNECT release announcement

We are very pleased to announce that the first release of Bentley Map CONNECT has been posted to the fulfillment center.

This release is the Bentley Map CONNECT stand alone product only.

Bentley Map CONNECT brings Maps GIS, interoperability and feature modeling tools to the Bentley CONNECT world. Features include:

• New ribbon based interface for ease of learning and improved productivity
• 64 bit application to handle much larger data sets and reality models
• Integration with the online Bentley CONNECT Cloud services for improved project sharing
• New Bing Maps background map for an ‘always available’ base map
• All the other great new features of MicroStation CONNECT

Users with geospatial projects created by the geospatial administrator should open those projects with the new Bentley Map GSA and export to adapt their projects to the new workspace and workset concepts employed by CONNECT series products.

This first release contains the features used by most Bentley Map users. The complete list of features is described in the product readme file available here (Technical Information Resources).

Bentley Map Enterprise, Bentley Map PowerView and the remaining features of Bentley Map will follow along with the regular three-month release cycle.

Please note that the Bentley Map for MicroStation product (installs on MicroStation) will not be developed as a CONNECT application.  Existing users can move to Bentley Map Standalone or Bentley Map Enterprise.  Details on how to do this will be forthcoming through your account manager.

Bentley Map for MicroStation users also please note that, for ELS and SELECT Open Access, use of Bentley Map Standalone will consume one license.
