Additional highlights are as follows:
Geospatial projects created by the V8i version of Geospatial Administrator will need to be opened with the CONNECT version and exported. This ensures that the project conforms to the new workspace and workset concepts employed by the CONNECT series of products.
Please note that the Bentley Map for MicroStation product, which installs on MicroStation as a layered application, will not be developed as a CONNECT application. Existing users can move to Bentley Map Standalone or Bentley Map Enterprise. Details on how to do this will be forthcoming through your account manager.
Bentley Map for MicroStation users should also note that for ELS and SELECT Open Access, use of Bentley Map Standalone will consume one license.

I have a customer currently running BME SS4 on SELECT who wants to upgrade to BME Connect Edition. Is there a pre-requisites document such as the mandatory CONNECTION CLIENT, Internet requirements etc. that I can share with the IT department of my client.
Can a customer use a checked out license with the CONNECT Edition?

Hi. When you download and install Bentley Map CONNECT Edition, the CONNECTION Client will be downloaded and installed automatically. You do not need to install it separately. The CONNECTION Client was already present in the latest V8i releases, the requirements will be the same. With SELECT Licensing, as was present with the V8i releases and with the current release of Bentley Map CONNECT Edition, users are supposed to be logged in and license usages are reported to the SELECT Server. Therefore, a network connection is required. However, there are provisions to work with a checked out license as you are indicating.
With the new CONNECT Licensing, which is already available through the CONNECT License adapter on most recent releases of Bentley products, licensing has changed a bit. You can see this document which will give some details: https://www.bentley.com/en/resources/bentley-user-registration-fact-sheet . Checked out licenses are a concept of SELECT Licensing. The recommendation in CONNECT Licensing and best experience and access to all services is by being connected. I do not know if there is a way to work disconnected. I'll see if I can find more information on that specific subject.
