RE: [MicroStation Forum] Bentley Map Mobile - i-Model reference issue

Question

For office work, we use MicroStation CONNECT. But for field work, we use Bentley Map Mobile.
 
 
 So in order for the inspector on the field to mark up his redlines, I publish an i-model in MicroStation which is then opened in Bentley Map (version 05.05.08.06). 
 
 Before using MicroStation CONNECT, I was using MicroStation V8i. But I need MicroStation CONNECT to be able to open the .markupdb (the redline file coming from Bentley Map Mobile). So since I installed
 MicroStation CONNECT, the i-model files that I create don’t show the references. I can tell they are there by checking in Bentley Map, but I can’t see them in Bentley Map, or in MicroStation. In Bentley Map I open the i-model, in MicroStation I attach it as
 a reference. If I merge the reference, I can see all the details. But I would like to keep the file as reference. 
 
 I tried to move this conversation to Geospatial, but I failed. If you can, please move it.

 Can you describe used workflow to explain where the problem is. It's not quite clear, because in the subject you mentioned Bentley Map Mobile, where I guess it's expected Bentley Map (OpenCities
 Map) will be used (together with Bentley Map Mobile Publisher in V8i). 
 BTW What version of Bentley Map Mobile do you use? And on what platform?

 At first, let's reconstruct and describe the whole workflow (a chain) how i-model is created and consumed. 
 If the problem is in Bentley Map Mobile and not in MicroStation, I recommend to move this discussion to

As you may be aware, a Bentley Map Mobile redline file (.markupdb) can contain 1 or more redline layers, each a container for redline elements. Therefore, when reference attaching the .markupdb file, you must interactively chose the "Model" to attach. 
 Please note that both Bentley Map V8i and OpenCities Map CONNECT Edition have the ability to reference attach Bentley Map Mobile redline files. And finally, I would recommend use of Bentley Map Mobile Publisher or the included Bentley Map Mobile Converter command line application when creating i-models to fully leverage Bentley Map Mobile capabilities.
