Hello everyone
I exported an .shp file and a .tab file from OpenCitiesMap.
At this point, I create a new .dgn file in OpenRail Designer and in the "Attach Reference" panel, I add one of the two files exported from OpenCitiesMap.
The newly referenced file reports the information created in OpenCitiesMap but I lose the symbolism (colors, line styles, layer structure.)
Is there a way not to lose the graphic styles?
Jan's suggestion to continue to use the DGN File format is the proper one.
You can remove the XFM records yet retain graphic element symbology by using the Export MicroStation Elements command, found in the Map Manager.
Map will include a command to write the XFM Properties to Item Types in the next Map Update 5 release.
As shown in the image below I do not have this command
This looks like one of the earlier releases. What version of Map are you working with? The current version is OpenCities Map CONNECT Edition Update 4 version 10.04.00.42. Use File | Help | About OpenCities Map to locate the version number.
I currently use OpenCities Map CONNECT Edition Update 3 - Version 10.03.00.23If it was impossible for me to change the version, is there a way to solve my problem?
There are two options to consider.
1. Save the symbology using the Save .IMPX file. Then select this file in the Reference dialog box.
2. Use a Schema File, defined by the Map Geospatial Administrator. A Schema defines the feature symbology and other settings. Then upon Import of the Shapefile use the 'Mapped Name' field to match the import to the feature name from the Schema.

The GSA Schema is more complex and would take more time to create, and is also initialized separately from the Start Menu. Give the Import .impx file a try.
